It helps to use the Magic Wand tool to select specific elements of your picture so the rest won't be edited when painting. Then use the paint brush or paint bucket tools (also try fiddling with opacity and softness/hardness of the brush for good shading effects.
i remember Taz having a similar "shot" at the end of his TAZMANIA openings! oh and Sylvester and Tweety probably had one too! oh and most of them have "official" colored headshot even if they aren't used in cartoons. Duck Dodgers for example is a black one (like we can quickly see in the beginning of his recent episodes)
The Taz one was more him "breaking through" the iris, while the Duck Dodgers one was a silouette. I've never seen any other headshots outside a Road Runner one in one of his games and the Porky/Daffy one used in the early Leon Schlesinger shorts:
Sylvester and Tweety might have one but nearly every cartoon I've seen of them is a 'Blue Ribbon' edit which takes out the opening (the nearest I could find is this Sylvester one in the Claws for Alarm opening, since it used the Porky headshot, my guess is they would have used a Sylvester one too if it existed):
The main reason I ask for one is for authenticity to the old style. The other three headshots have a rather 'retro' 40s styling, that goes well to compare against my own style used for the full character pic alongside it.
There are no other character iris' on the site so I guess that's it (though there are even rarer shorts so who knows). Depending on how I go with the characters I may separate this into two separate pics however.
If you ever find a higher res version of the titles, that would be helpful too.
